Mission  Statement

Grace By Example (GBE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to raising funds and securing donations to aid in the rebuilding of homes devastated by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina. GBE organizes financial resources and coordinates efforts to provide direct support to homeowners and homebuilders in small communities across the region, including—but not limited to—the South Toe River Community, the Pensacola Community along the Cane River, and Egypt Ramsey Town and Bee Log, two of the hardest-hit areas by the storm.

 

Through the collective action of volunteers, subcontractors, and generous donations, GBE is focused on restoring homes and helping families rebuild their lives. Our efforts aim to foster hope and resilience within these communities, ensuring that the process of recovery goes beyond physical structures and extends into the hearts and minds of those impacted.

 

At GBE, we believe that we are not merely building houses; we are building eternal friendships and long-term transformational relationships through the love of Christ. We meet families in their deepest struggles, helping them secure the resources they need to rise from the pit. We walk and worship with them as they work their way out of hardship, staying by their side until full recovery is realized. There are countless opportunities to “wash people’s feet,” as Jesus did, and to serve with humility and love.
