Grateful for the privilege to serve families that were severely impacted!!!
GRATITIDE
On Sunday, 2/23/26, Day 513, I had the privilege to attend the profoundly moving dedication service of a home for one of the 26 families in the South Toe River Community whose homes were catastrophically impacted. The family’s story during and after the storm is extremely profound. The family lost the family motel, family home attached to the motel, the grandfather who died shortly after the storm, and the oldest son died in accident after the storm.
The family is so very thankful for the work done but they were also very grateful for the people, churches, volunteers, and nonprofit organizations that formed transformational relationships with them giving them “HOPE” as they walked besides them during their difficult season of life. It was a true blessing to see this family embrace their completed home, the relationships that have been built and for them to see the love and mercy of Jesus Christ through the actions of the different people and groups that helped them.
ANOTHER FAMILY’S STORY-A STORY OF RESILIENCE AND DETERMINATION
Grace by Example is currently working with a family that during the height of Hurricane Helene high winds caused a very large tree to fall through their mobile home rendering it uninhabitable. They received no FEMA funding and a very small insurance amount.
Currently they are living in a small hard-shell camper next to their destroyed mobile home. To add some additional issues, approximately three weeks ago during one of the cold spells the sewage lines froze backing raw sewage into their camper.
Grace By Example is seeking donations for this family as well as other families Grace by Example has the privilege to work with. Monetary or In-Kind donations are welcome. If you feel lead to help, the following is needed:
1. A new 14’ by 70’ mobile home - Cost range $65,000 to $85,000
2. Mobile home central AC system - $3,500 to $5,300.00
3. Washer and Dryer for a mobile home - $3,000.00
4. Lumber and materials to replace a covered deck - $15,000
Grace By Example maintains a strong prayerful commitment to support families in need. Verses like Matthew 22:36-39 and Matthew 14:16 continue to be the driving force of the work of Grace By Example.
