As I sit at my desk tonight, today is day 308 since Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina.  As noted by the NC OSBM  https://www.osbm.nc.gov/hurricane-helene-dna/open   

Those 73,000 people still need help. Not only did they lose their homes, but in most cases, they lost everything in their homes.  With that being said, people are continuing to step up to help these families.  In the South Toe River Basin community homes are being rebuilt and repaired.  Grading, foundations, major repairs, and houses put on stilts.   It is so moving to work with people who have suffered so much and continue to have deep and abiding faith. The work being done is not about building homes but having the compassion to transformationally change lives through the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so full the law of Christ.”
