As I sit at my desk this Thursday, September 25, 2025, Day 363 since Hurricane I just watched the WRAL documentary, “Helene: What We Lost, What We Found.”
(https://youtu.be/tdgAObyDd6I?si=WxtvaqxJCOPWDkMM) I prayerfully hope you will take
the time to watch it. This documentary provided a comprehensive overview of the aftermath of
Hurricane Helene, which struck the eastern coast of the United States and western North Carolina one year prior.
The documentary underscores the magnitude of the storm’s damage, with an estimated 60 billion dollars’ worth of losses and 189,000 homes severely affected. Notably, the majority of the
recovery efforts are being undertaken by organizations, churches, and ordinary citizens.
Furthermore, the documentary emphasizes that substantial work remains to be completed,
necessitating the continued involvement of people and resources.
Having had the privilege and honor of working with individuals who have lost everything since October 5, 2024, has been profoundly transformative. The individuals whose unwavering faith and resilience have been an inspiration have gifted me with experiences beyond measure.
Furthermore, I have witnessed the remarkable spirit of service exemplified by individuals who
dedicate themselves to serving others with a genuine desire to alleviate their suffering through
selfless acts of compassion.

Galatians 6:9 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a
harvest if we do not give up.
Take care.
